Gopinath slams century

CHENNAI: K. Gopinath (133 not out) starred in SRM’s 65-run win over Mysore in the South Zone inter-university cricket tournament here on Tuesday. Anwar Ahmed Khan’s five for 19, inclusive of a hat-trick, enabled Osmania beat MG (Kottayam) by 126 runs.

The scores: Karnatak-Dharwad 165 for nine in 39 overs (Nayeem Indikar 62) bt Anna 89 in 28.4 overs (Amid Budi four for 21). Match restricted to 39 overs due to overnight rain at SRM.

Osmania 187 in 49.2 overs (Ponia 54, Samlulla Khan 49) bt M.G. (Kottayam) 61 for two in 27.3 overs (Anwar Ahmed Khan five for 19).

Tumkur 65 in 24.1 overs lost to Madras 71 for two in seven overs.

SRM 215 for eight in 50 overs (Vijay Rahul 56, K.H. Gopinath 133 not out, Manoj five for 60) bt Mysore 150 in 37.5 overs (Cheluvaraj 55, J. Kaushik four for 19).
