Poster painting contest to mark Cancer Day

CHENNAI: Vasantha Memorial Trust, working with cancer patients, will hold an on-the-spot poster painting competition on the topic ‘I love my smoke-free childhood’ at Maharishi Vidya Senior Secondary School in Chetpet on Sunday. The contest, to be held in connection with ‘World Cancer Day’, is open to children in the 4 to 16 age group.
The children will be divided into three groups, 4-8 years, 9-12 years and 13-16 years. Drawing sheets will be provided at the venue but participants must bring their own painting materials. Attractive prizes await winners of the hour-long contest. A panel of four well known artists will judge the paintings.
The trust, in a press release, said that the children should come in their school uniforms and carry valid identification cards. Each school may send three students in each age group. The schools may call 23715500 or 98940-89370/9 or mail vasanthamemorial@gmail.com
