BANGALORE: Chief Justice of the Karnataka High Court Cyriac Joseph has called upon people to “recognise, honour and reward” honest people so that others can emulate them. He was speaking on the occasion of International Customs Day organised by the Karnataka Customs Department here on Tuesday. Mr. Cyriac Joseph said there were honest people in good numbers in all fields, but they are left to themselves to wither away along with their good qualities. He said the country had multiplicity of law which could bring corrupt people to book but the law enforcing authorities should enforce the law. There was also a dearth of people who can understand, enforce and interpret the law, he said. Chief Commissioner of Customs, Bangalore Zone, Heera Radhakrishnan said that there were incidence of ganja cultivation in Bangalore, Mangalore and Belgaum. She said the Forest Department was assisting the Customs in finding and destroying the farms.
