Lectures on research

‘Plagiarism is one of the most serious problems plaguing research,’ Vijaya L.Melnick Co-President, International Health Awareness Network, Washington, said recently. Delivering a special lecture on ‘Research Ethics’ at Avinashilingam University, she said that fabrication and falsification were ethical dilemmas that research faced these days. Ms. Melnick also stressed the need for integrity in research. She spoke about the ethical principles in research involving human beings and animals. Daniel Melnick, Social Scientist and Consultant, The Constella Group, Maryland, U.S., spoke about the need for health statistics in monitoring progress in research.
