JAMSHEDPUR: Two National records were set on the second day of the 28th senior National archery championship at the JRD Tata Sports Complex here on Tuesday. Priyank Tyagi of Uttar Pradesh and Tarundeep Rai of Services set the new marks in the men’s recurve 90m and 70m respectively. The 22-year-old Priyank shot 330 points to erase the record of 318 set by Somai Murmu of Bihar at Amravati in 2001. Rai, the 24-year-old Indian Army Subedar, managed a spectacular 344 points to erase Roydas Haibru’s (ITBP) record of 343 set last year at the Vijayawada National. Dola shinesThe day also belonged to stars who dominated the show in the women’s recurve section. Dola Banerjee of Railways re-established her credentials with a telling show, winning the 50 and 30m with 331 and 350 points respectively. She also ensured the overall honours with four-distance total of 1327. Meanwhile, the organisers revised the results of the 50m for men in Indian round after spotting a mistake at the compiling stage. The results: Recurve, men: 90m: 1.
