Mukunth bats well

CHENNAI: K. Mukunth’s unbeaten 68 helped St. Michael’s School beat Sri Sankara SSS by eight wickets in the Vidya Mandir-Sportstar under-13 cricket tournament here on Tuesday.

The scores:

Vidya Mandir ‘A’ 173 for seven in 30 overs (Vikash 44, Anirudh Raghavan 39, B. Anirudh 31, Rohan four for 5) bt DAV Mogappair 140 for nine in 30 overs (G. Vignesh 40, A. Deepak 31, K. Arun 25).

Sri Sankara SSS 133 for nine in 30 overs (K. Ramesh 36, A. Surajlal 31, Dinesh 25, Siddarth three for 31) lost to St. Michael’s School 136 for two in 24.4 overs (K. Mukunth 68 not out, K. Siddarth 33 not out).

PSBB (K.K. Nagar) 149 for six in 30 overs (Ashwath Mukundan 57, V. Adithya 27 not out, H. Krishnan three for 29) bt Hindu SSS 125 for seven in 30 overs (Balajee 66).

Modern SSS 114 for eight in 30 overs (Balaji 28, K. Abishek Sambandh four for 22) lost to St. John’s (Besant Nagar) 115 for no loss in 22.3 overs (Geet Puri 59 not out, Welbal Lint 37 not out).

Monday’s results: Vidya Mandir ‘B’ 100 in 29.3 overs (T.K.M. Senthamizh three for 12) lost to Chettinad Vidyashram 102 for five in 23 overs.

PS SSS 136 for six in 30 overs (Nikilesh four for 33, M.S. Suraj 70 not out) bt Vidya Mandir ‘A’ 134 for four in 30 overs (K.S. Prahlad 30, G. Harimahesh 25 not out, Sudarshan 40 not out).

Jawahar Vidyalaya 108 for eight in 30 overs (Raghav Vishwanath 28) lost to Santhome 112 for eight in 29 overs.

St. Bede’s 168 for eight in 30 overs (Mohd. Mustafa Sarosh 43, R. Arvind Raj 31) lost to Don Bosco 173 for four in 29.3 overs (Sharukh Khan 80 not out, Mitchel Mannay’s 39).

State-ranking tennis

Nungambakkam Tennis Club will conduct its sixth annual State-ranking tennis tournament from February 11 to 16.

The categories are children under-10, boys and girls u-12 and u-14 and men’s singles (a prize money event).
