The sunshine coast beckons

Staff Reporter

Bangalore: Millions of overseas travellers flock to the “Sunshine Coast” of Queensland every year. For those in Bangalore who may be dreaming of hitting the lovely beaches of this Australian State next vacation, a road show held by the Tourism Authority of Queensland gave some useful tips. Thirteen delegates representing various agencies of the tourism authority pitched Queensland as a “fun family destination”.

Ryna Sequeira, Marketing Manager for Gold Coast Tourism, said: “The campaign aims at creating both agent and consumer awareness.”

Paul Buggy, Regional Director, Tourism Queensland, was all excited about coming to Bangalore for the second time and to India for the fourth time.

“There has been a 7 per cent growth in the number of Indians travelling to Australia last year and an increase of 17 per cent is expected this year,” he said.
