The police claim to have seized some of the stolen jewellery from them. Nishi Banga was found murdered with her hands and legs tied in her first floor bedroom on December 12. Investigations revealed that some Bangladeshi nationals suspected to be involved in the murder were missing. Subsequently a team was sent to Taki Hasnabad border in West Bengal, but it learnt that the suspects had fled to Bangladesh. However, in coordination with the West Bengal police and the Border Security Force, the police finally arrested one of the accused, Shahbuddin, at Narayanpura in West Bengal.
