Commotion at Ambur hospital

Staff Reporter

AMBUR: There was commotion at Ambur Government Hospital here on Wednesday when people protested “police inaction” over the complaint of a parent of a three-day-old infant that was stolen, on Wednesday.

According to sources, an unidentified woman had allegedly stolen the infant from its mother, Sumiya (25) wife of Imtiaz, an autorickshaw driver, of Jalalpettai. Imtiaz’s elder sister Ashiya was taking care of the infant. The people squatted outside the Medical Officer’s office seeking action.

Police rushed to the spot to pacify the agitators.
