MALAPPURAM: The ongoing International Film Festival organised by the Rasmi Film Society here entered the sixth day on Wednesday, attracting a wide variety of audience and providing a platform for all delegates to express their views. Over a dozen delegates spoke at an open forum on ‘experiencing the IFFM’ on Wednesday evening. General convener Prakash Sreedhar welcomed the gathering. K. Jayakumar proposed a vote of thanks. Jayaraj’s ‘Anandbhairavi,’ Alexander Sokurov’s ‘Alexandra,’ Pavithran’s ‘Uppu,’ Adoor Gopalakrishnan’s ‘Nizhalkoothu,’ and Tata Amarol’s ‘Antonia’ were screened at Naveen Theatre on Wednesday. The week-long festival will conclude on Thursday. Aravindan’s ‘Vasthuhara’ will be screened at 9.15 a.m. Deepa Metha’s ‘Water’ will be screened at 11.30 a.m., Shoukath Ameen Korky’s ‘Crossing the Dust’ at 2 p.m., and Madhu Kaithaprath’s ‘Ekantham’ at 7 p.m. Chinese filmmaker Zhang Yang’s celebrated comedy ‘Getting Home’ will be the biggest attraction on Thursday. It will be screened at 5.30 p.m. soon after the valedictory function. District Police Superintendent P. Vijayan will inaugurate the valedictory function. Chief coordinator of the festival Manamboor Rajanbabu will preside over the function.
