Meet on filariasis

KASARAGOD: The Institute of Applied Dermatology, Kasaragod, and the International Lymphoedema Framework, London, are jointly organising a national seminar on lymphatic filariasis here from February 5 to 7.

In a press release here on Wednesday, the organisers said Christine Moffatt, Editor, Journal of Lymphodema, Thames Valley University, London, will inaugurate the seminar at the municipal conference hall. C.T. Ahmed Ali, MLA, would preside.

Vasanthan, former chairman of Andhra Bank would release the newsletter of the institute. Terence J. Ryan, Department of Dermatology, Oxford Medical University, U.K., would offer felicitation.

The scientific sessions would be held at the Chinmaya Tejas auditorium here on February 6 and 7. K.S. Bose would introduce the theme of the national seminar at 9 a.m. on February 6.

The sessions included lead lectures, demonstration of self care and integrated treatment procedures and talks on European treatment techniques.

P. Karunakaran, MP, would deliver the keynote address at the valedictory function.
