Andhra Bank net profit at Rs. 159 cr.

HYDERABAD: Andhra Bank posted a higher net profit of Rs. 159.02 crore in the third quarter ended December 31, 2007, against Rs. 136.27 crore in the corresponding period in the previous fiscal. The bottom line was pegged at Rs. 451.32 crore against Rs. 399.13 crore. Total income rose to Rs. 1,233.34 crore from Rs. 926.92 crore. Total business of the bank went up by 22 per cent in April-December 2007 to Rs. 75,225 crore from Rs. 61,689 crore in the year-ago period. — Special Correspondent
