Hyderabad, Kerala triumph

VIJAYAWADA: Hyderabad boys and Kerala girls emerged champions in the 53rd junior National ball badminton championship for boys and girls that concluded at Acharya Nagarjuna University on Wednesday.

Hyderabad beat Tamil Nadu 29-24, 29-9, while Kerala defeated defending champion Tamil Nadu 29-11, 29-26.

Andhra boys and Karnataka girls took the third spots.

The results: Boys: Final Hyderabad bt TN 29-24, 29-9. Semifinals: Hyderabad bt Andhra 29-26, 13-29, 29-11, TN bt Karnataka 29-25, 18-29, 29-27.

Girls: Final: Kerala bt TN 29-11, 29-26. Semifinals: Kerala bt Karnataka 29-19, 29-27, TN bt Andhra 29-21, 29-14.
