Buchanan warns CA of more burnout

Melbourne: As Shaun Tait’s indefinitely walking away from the game once again raked up the burnout issue, former coach John Buchanan has warned Cricket Australia of more such cases if “safety nets” for players performing under demanding conditions were not explored further.

“There needs to be a good support mechanism around players and their families. I am not suggesting there isn’t one now, but it should stimulate the thinking about what is in place at the moment, and the safety nets that can be made available,” Buchanan was quoted as saying by the Australian Associated Press. — PTI
