Tributes paid to Mahatma

BHUBANESWAR: Rich tributes were paid to the memory of Mahatma Gandhi on the occasion of the late leader’s 60th martyrdom day here on Wednesday.

Governor M.C. Bhandare, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and a host of other dignitaries garlanded the statue of the Mahatma Gandhi on the State Assembly premises.

A series of functions were also organised in the city during the day where tributes were paid to Mahatma Gandhi.

On the occasion, a book titled ‘Apostle of Satyagraha’, containing essays on the life and ideals of Mahatma Gandhi, was released at a function held at the Lohia Academy.
