Temple elephant runs amok

Tirumala: Mild tension prevailed at the Varahaswamy guest house area on Wednesday when the temple elephant ran amok. Sources said that the elephant panicked when there was a sudden burst of flame at a road side eatery.Frightened at the sudden flash of flame, the jumbo ran towards to the Papavinasanam dam into the Tirumala forests. The mahouts who ran behind the elephant secured control over it at the Parveti Mandapam, situated about 2 km. from here. – Staff Reporter
