Panel voices concern over poor state of three PHCs
Staff Reporter
KANCHEEPURAM: Members of the district planning committee have expressed their displeasure over functioning of primary health centres in three important town panchayats in the district.
Participating in the DPC meeting, chaired by the committee president and district panchayat council chairman, D. Duraisamy, the members pointed out that the PHCs at Sriperumpudur, Wallajahbad and Uthiramerur were not functioning at night. Further, they insisted that the ambulance vehicles provided to the non-governmental organisations should be parked only at the PHCs.
They also demanded that details about the ambulance service provider, contact numbers and other details should be made available to the heads of all local body institutions.
The members sought priority to works undertaken under the Prime Minister Rojgar Yojna and the district panchayat road works, according to a press release.
