Good response to 5K Walk

GUNTUR: The 5K Global Peace Walk organised by Mangalagiri police on Wednesday evoked good response with more than 10,000 people taking part.

The walk was organised by the Mangalagiri police with the help of some industrial houses. Rajiv Vidya Mission Minister Murugudu Hanumantha Rao flagged off the walk. Superintendent of Police Mahesh Chandra Laddha, Andhra Pradesh Special Police Battalion commandant V.C. Sajjanar were present.

The walkers resembled a sea of humanity as the main road from the National Highway leading into the town was flooded with the people. The walkathon started at Gali Gopuram and wound its way through the arterial roads before finishing off at Gali Gopuram.

Members of Legislative Council Rayapati Srinivas, K.S. Lakshmana Rao and Singam Basava Punnaiah and Municipal Chairperson K. Srinivasa Rao were present.
