Court sets aside takeover of AAI land

Legal Correspondent

Hyderabad: Justice V. Eswariah of the High Court on Thursday set aside the action of the revenue officers of Ranga Reddy district taking possession of the lands belonging to Airport Authority of India (AAI).

The judge was allowing the writ petition filed by the AAI. The petitioner complained that the State government had given it land admeasuring 9 acres near Gachibowli, Hyderabad long back. The land has been in occupation and use of the AAI and the compound wall was constructed.

Board put up

The revenue officers removed the board of AAI and put up a board claiming that it belongs to the State government.

The petitioner complained that the officers are treating everyone like this and mentioned the case of the Railway property being taken over at Secunderabad recently.

The judge asked the revenue officers to follow the due process of law and set aside the present action.
