CBSE counselling for students, parents from today

NEW DELHI: The Central Board of Secondary Education will launch its first phase of counselling for this year from Friday.

It will continue till March 31.

This is the 11th consecutive year the CBSE is providing the service to students and parents before and during the examinations to overcome anxiety and stress.

It has been providing tele-counselling through Interactive Voice Response System mode for the past three years.

“This service will be available on local dial facilities within Delhi and Mumbai for MTNL subscribers. This will run behind a 10-digit number 1250111102 on the MTNL network. For the BSNL/ Airtel landlines, this will run behind 1250102,” said an official release.

“This year, as many as 36 principals, trained counsellors from the CBSE-affiliated government and private schools, psychologists and social scientists will operate this helpline individually from 13 centres in Delhi, Noida, Chandigarh, Meerut, Jaipur, Gurgaon, Faridabad, Bhubaneshwar, Visakhapatnam, Jamnagar, Jabalpur, Coimbatore, and for the first time from Ludhiana,” it said.

New centre in Kuwait

A centre has been set up in Kuwait. With this, there are now six helpline centres outside the country. Dubai, Doha, Qatar, Sharjah and Yemen already have centres.

“The CBSE has also tied up with several national papers for weekly question-answer columns throughout February,” the release said.
