Hizb militant killed in encounter

Srinagar: A Hizb-ul-Mujahideen militant was killed in an encounter at Tangbal in the Yaripora area of Kulgam district on Friday. The encounter started in the morning when a police search party came under fire from militants hiding in a house in the village, Superintendent of Police Swayam Prakash Pani said. The search operation was continuing as one more militant was believed to be still hiding in the village, he said. — PTI
