Many fishermen families have been living in relief camps for one-and-a-half years THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Tsunami Rehabilitation Task Force has urged the government to speedily acquire enough land to rehabilitate all fishermen families who lost their homes in the tsunami of 2004. A press note issued here said many fishermen families have been living in relief camps for the past one-and-a-half years. What they needed most now is immediate take over of adequate land for their rehabilitation. If there was further delay, strong agitations will be launched by the task force. A meeting of the task force has also demanded that the tsunami fund be spent only in the coastal areas and that all children from fishermen families be given the tsunami scholarship. Sabas Ignatious, task force convener, was among those who spoke at the meeting, the press note added.
