Patna: A child trafficking gang involved in abducting minors from Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and Nepal for sexually abusing them has been unearthed by police in East Champaran and Sitamarhi districts. With the unearthing of the gang, Bihar police claims to have exposed a Nithari-like case. The incident came to light following the arrest of one Arjun Sah, the alleged kingpin of the gang, on Tuesday. Sitamarhi Superintendent of Police M.R. Naik said on Friday that Sah used to abduct children for sexually abusing them. The kidnapped boys, who were traced by the police, alleged they were sodomised during their captivity. The modus operandi of the gang was to visit public schools and lure good looking boys under the age of 14 and hold them captive in hotels for a week before releasing them, official sources said. “It has been established that the gang was involved in over two dozen kidnapping cases in Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and Nepal,” the SP said. — PTI
