33 people injured in jallikattu

ATTUR: As many as 33 people sustained injuries in the jallikattu event organised in Koodamalai village in Thammampatti on Thursday.

The event was organised as a part of harvest festival of Pongal. Six persons, who sustained serious injuries, were admitted to Attur Government Hospital.

One of them, Chinnamani, was referred to Salem Government Medical College Hospital for further treatment.

Police and revenue officials monitored the event.
