Panchayat Raj chamber plans stir

VIZIANAGARAM: The Andhra Pradesh Panchayat Raj Chamber will launch a State-wide agitation on February 5, demanding that the government transfer all the 29 subjects as per the 73rd Constitution (amendment).

At a press conference here on Friday, its chairman Mamidi Appala Naidu said that Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy went back on his promise made before elections to empower the panchayats.
