Kanpur: Resorting to ‘Gandhigiri’ to press their demand of a salary hike, the faculty members at a medical college here on Friday worked for an extra hour. “Doctors at G.S.B.M. Medical College worked for an hour more and also tied black ribbons around their hands, demanding pay scale equal to what their counterparts get in Central institutes like AIIMS and PGI,” U.P. Medical Association (UPMA) president, S.K. Arora said. Doctors at Gorakhpur, Meerut, Agra and Jhansi are also demanding the same hike from past three months but the State Government is not paying attention to it, he added. — PTI
