BIJAPUR: Residents here staged a rasta roko on Thursday seeking action against a cable TV operator for allegedly disrupting the network in their area. Residents of Basavanagar, Rajajinagar, Ramnagar, Raghavendra Colony, Shantiniketan Colony and Muranakeri, under the banner of Bijapur Zilla Cable TV Grahakara Vedike, blocked traffic on Bagalkot Road for about half an hour. They said that the operator charged them heavily. However, the service was poor. When they stopped availing of his service and started their own cable network, the operator, with his henchmen, disrupted the network. The residents had lodged a complaint with the police.
