ANXIOUS MOMENTS: Candidates who took the Class X equivalency examination conducted by the State Literacy Mission exchange notes after the examination in Malappuram on Thursday. MALAPPURAM: The 10th standard equivalency examinations (A level course) conducted by the State Literacy Mission since January 23 evoked enthusiastic response not only from the learners but from the general public as well. As many as 246 people, old and young, took the test in the district. Sixty-eight-year-old Kolathumthodi Kadeeja from Keezhuparamba panchayat took the final examination at Seeti Haji Memorial Higher Secondary School, Edavanna, on Thursday. As many as 60 candidates appeared for the examination at B.E.M. High School, Parappanangadi. Among the learners who took the test there was Umer Ottummal, president of Parappanangadi grama panchayat. The 246 learners took the test held at three centres in the district.
