Assistance sanctioned for farmers

Thiruvananthapuram: The government has sanctioned Rs. 50 lakh for a scheme under which assistance is given to agricultural workers belonging to the Scheduled Castes, who are below the poverty line, to buy land for cultivation.

To buy land

When they buy 40 cents of paddy fields or 20 cents of other land with the help of bank loan, 50 per cent of the loan or Rs. 50,000, whichever is less, will the given to them under the scheme.

The beneficiaries will be selected by the District Scheduled Caste Development Officers.
