NEW DELHI: Various young contributors to a prose collection titled “Bahurupiya Sheher” were felicitated by noted Hindi writer Krishna Sobti at a function organised here. Hailing the unique collection of literary works representing life in today’s marginalised society, Ms. Sobti said the book represents a new line of thinking and mirrors society’s ongoing struggle for a better life. “The language used by the writers is crisp and appropriate and conveys struggle without any hint of aggression. The writers have transformed the language of Hindi literature through the book. Their writings are devoid of self-pity and are full of passion,” she said. The book has been edited by Shweta Sarda in collaboration with self-help groups “Ankur” and “Sarai” and published by Rajkamal Publication Group. Critic Namvar Singh also praised the book and encouraged the young writers to continue writing in the Hindi language. “The book exposes pseudo-secularists and makes one realise how each one of us is also a part of such a system.”
