“Promote secondary grade teachers”

PUDUKOTTAI: The Pudukottai District High and Higher Secondary School Secondary Grade Teachers Association has urged the State government to promote secondary grade B.Ed teachers to the post of school assistants.

In a memorandum to Minister for School Education Thangam Thennarasu, State general secretary of the association V. Gunaseelan said the Education Department should conduct a special training programme for the SGTs not qualified in B.Ed.

Pointing out that the seniority of SGTs in Economics, Commerce, Home Science and Political Science was not taken into account for promotion, the memorandum urged the government to do away with the disparity.
