BANGALORE: The two-day Indo-German conference on water safety and treatment concluded here on Thursday. Among the 12 recommendations made were reaching safe and uncontaminated water to all people, undertaking capacity building exercises in many areas including operation and maintenance, development of human resource in water treatment, transfer of technology on safe water treatment and hazard-free distribution. The experts who participated in the concluding session called for conservation, rejuvenation and maintenance of waterbodies, and strict adherence to rules and legislation on right use of water. The experts agreed that the water safety issue becomes more important in the background of Bangalore getting a bout of water borne diseases.
