Dhanalakshmi Bank Q3 net up by 88 per cent

Drop in NPA to 0.19 per cent

THRISSUR: Dhanalakshmi Bank has increased its net profit to Rs.19.03 crore for the nine month period ended December 31, 2007, as against Rs.10.13 crores during the corresponding period of the previous year, registering a growth of 87.86 per cent.

The operating profit increased from Rs.23.36 crore to Rs.34.95 crore during the period, recording a growth of 49.61 per cent.

The total income of the Bank increased from Rs.196.30 crore to Rs.256.70 crore. Non-interest income increased from Rs.19 crore to Rs.23.50 crore on account of focussed activity on fee-based business.

The total deposits of the Bank increased from Rs.2,815.70 crore to Rs.3,444.61 crore, while total advances went up from Rs.1,838.10 crore to Rs.2,002.63 crore.

Priority sector advances as a percentage to net bank credit touched 50.20 per cent, above the RBI benchmark of 40 per cent.
