Young Muslims, New Lucky Star get promotion

Bangalore: Young Muslims topped the State ‘C’ division football league with 22 points from nine matches and along with runner-up New Lucky Star (19 pts) was promoted to the ‘B’ division.

Brace by Bidappa

Meanwhile in the last round matches of the ‘C’ division league, Bidappa’s brace helped Young Gems defeat Excelsiors 3-1 at the IISc Ground on Friday.

Bidappa scored in the 30th and 47th minutes while Harsh scored Young Gems’ opening goal in the 15th minute. Mani scored for Excelsiors in the 26th minute.

In another match at the Austin Town Ground, City Club and New Lucky Star were locked in a goalless draw.

Big win for KSP

Roshan Madappa (13th & 62nd mins.) and Laxman Rao (21st & 49th) struck a brace each as KSP defeated ITI 6-0 in a Field Marshal Cariappa Memorial hockey tournament match at the KSHA Stadium here on Friday.

Umesh Mutgar and Rajashekar also scored for the victors.
