BANGALORE: Seeded players in the gold division had no problems carving out facile victories in the quarterfinals of the All India ladies amateur golf tournament at the Eagleton Golf resort here on Friday. Top seed Mehar Atwal easily ousted Shweta Galande five up with four holes to go and second seed Laverry Kumar toyed with youngster Gurbani Singh, winning seven up and six holes to go. Third seed Sharmila Nicollet accounted for sixth seed Neha Tripathi winning six up on the 13th hole. Atwal will face-off against Karishma Thiagaraj and Nicollet will have to contend with Laverry in the last four on Saturday. The silver division had a major upset with top seed Anisha Padukone meeting her match in Kasavi Malik. Kasavi, a ninth standard student in Kolkata, stayed in the match despite being one down on the 17th. She sank a 25 foot putt to win the 18th hole and fought grittily to share the 19th and 20th holes in the play-off. On the 21st, Kasavi wrapped up the match for a major upset. The scores (all quarterfinals): Gold Division (0-12 handicap): Mehar Atwal bt Shweta Galande 5 & 4; Karishma Thiagaraj bt Gauri Monga 1-up; Laverry Kumar bt Gurabani Singh 7 & 6; Sharmila Nicollet bt Neha Tripathi 6 & 5. Silver Division (13-24): Kasavi Malik bt Anisha Padukone (21st hole); Megha Verma bt Raksha Phadke 7 & 6; Mita Govande bt Khushboo Thiagaraj 3 & 1; Maleena Awn (SL) bt Sharmeen Chinoy 2-up. Bronze Division (25-36): Asho Doshi bt Jaya Vupulla 6 & 5; Aruna Sharma bt Neelu Chopra 1-up; Aditi Ashok bt Asha Shah 4 & 3; Rama Khanna bt Nandita Rao (19th hole). — Special Correspondent
