Jayendra, Ramakrishna post wins

Coimbatore: Sri Jayendra Saraswathi Maha Vidyalaya MHSS and Ramakrishna MHSS posted easy victories in the CDCA under-15 inter-school cricket tournament for the Giridhari Prasad Trophy at the CIT grounds here Friday.

Jayendra chalked out a 58-run win over Vidya Vikasini while Ramakrishna notched up an eight-wicket win over Sathya Sai MHSS.

The scores: Sri Jayendra Saraswathi 150 for three in 25 overs (A. Mohan Prasad 42 not out, S. Girish 44 not out) bt Vidya Vikasini 92 in 25 overs.

Sathya Sai MHSS 107 in 17.3 overs (Omkar 49) lost to Ramakrishna MHSS 110 for two in 14.2 overs.

Chinmaya Vidyalaya 64 in 16.2 overs lost to Sri Nehru Vidyalaya 65 for two in 9.3 overs.

Thursday results: Mani HSS 230 for five in 20 overs (G. Sri Vardhan 52, M.S. Rahul 43) bt Rukmani Kannan Vidyalaya 62 in 15.4 overs (Sakthi Vignesh five for 19, including hat-trick).

Kikani HSS 140 for two in 15 overs (V. Kishore 60) bt Suburban HSS 70 for seven in 15 overs.

St. Mary’s HSS 35 for five in 20 overs lost to RKS Kalvi Nilayam 37 for no loss in 5.5 overs.

Vivekananda MHSS (Tirupur) 78 in 17.3 overs (Manoj Kumar 40, Danush four for 8) lost to Stanes AIHSS 79 for six in 14.3 overs.

Kiddies meet

The G. Varadaraj Memorial Sports and the 22nd Kiddies athletic meet will be held at the PSG Medical College grounds here on Saturday. Organised by the Amateur Athletic Sports Association of Coimbatore and sponsored by the G.V. Memorial Trust, the meet will be declared open by C.R. Swaminathan, Chief Executive of PSG Institutions.
