Safety first: Students coming out of Jaivabai Municipal Girls Higher Secondary School following bomb threat in Tirupur on Friday. —
TIRUPUR: A bomb scare forced the schools in and around Tirupur to close down before lunch break on Friday.
The threat message was found written on the black board of a private school at Pandiyan Nagar on Perumanallur Road. It was noticed when the classes were about to start, prompting the parents to take their children to homes.
As rumours spread like wildfire, parents thronged the schools forcing the authorities to send the students with parents. Almost all the schools were emptied by noon. A team of police officials from Perumanallur station visited the school. They said that the threat was found to be fake.
