Ambuja Cements pays final of Re. 1 per share

CHENNAI: Ambuja Cements has announced a final dividend of 50 per cent (Rs. 1 per share) on equity share of Rs. 2 each. This, along with the interim of Rs. 125 per cent, makes a total of 175 per cent (Rs. 3.50 per share) for the year 2007. The company had paid a dividend of 165 per cent (Rs. 3.30 per share) for the 18 months period. It has achieved a net profit of Rs. 1,769.10 crore for the year ended December 31, 2007 against Rs. 1,340.07 crore in 2006. Total income has risen to Rs. 5,898.37 crore from Rs. 4,948.46 crore. — Corporate Reporter
