Police foil plan of runaways Crime Notes

BANGALORE: Swift action by the police helped trace three runaway students of Vasavi School in J.P. Nagar on Friday. The boys were spotted at the City Railway Station while they were boarding a train to Mysore.

According to the police, the three ninth standard students had a grouse against a teacher and wanted to teach her a lesson. They disappeared from the classroom just before the end of the school hours. The teacher, who got inkling about the boys’ plans to go to Mysore, informed the J.P. Nagar police.

Accused caught

The Central Crime Branch police on Friday caught a person wanted by the Tumkur police in two cases of murder and five cases of jailbreak. According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) N.D. Mulla, Mohammed Nasarulla Sharif (24) escaped from Tumkur jail after he and his friends were arrested for their alleged involvement in the murder of a shopkeeper in Tumkur.

He had also escaped from the custody of Goa police where he was arrested in a case of murder. He was reported to be absconding since 2006.

The Tumkur police asked the CCB to trace Sharief who was shuttling between the city and Tumkur. A team of CCB sleuths found Sharief in J.P. Nagar. He would be handed over to Tumkur police on Saturday, Mr. Mulla said.
