Attracting crowds: A scene from the Fourth India International Aqua Show in Kochi. KOCHI: A whole lot of players from the country and outside have set up 43 stalls at the five-day India International Aqua Show at Kaloor. Fishes and other marine life have been showcased in around 200 glass tanks. Huge gold fish, exotic tiger-cat fish, deadly-looking piranhas, frogfish, lion fish, starfish etc., have been exhibited at the stalls. The fishes and other marine life seemed to be at perfect synergy with each other. Some of the stalls have put up a brief description of the fishes. The Lakshadweep Fisheries stall has quite many colourful fishes. Fish food, ornamental aquariums, aquatic remedies, value-added products made from fish, model of fish-processing unit etc., adorn the stalls. Many Central and State government fisheries establishments have put up stalls. Children get a concession on the entry fee. International seminars on ornamental fishes will be held on Saturday and Sunday at Hotel Renaissance. Former President A.P.J. Abdul Kalam will be the chief guest on Sunday. A buyer-seller meet will be held on Monday at the hotel.
