Bypolls to civic body posts

VIRUDHUNAGAR: Byelections to vacant posts in urban and rural civic bodies of Virudhunagar district are to be held on February 20. Elections will be held to fill up vacant posts of panchayat union ward member (1), panchayat president (1), panchayat ward member (19) and municipal councillor (1). According to a release issued by the Collector, V. Chandrasekaran, here on Saturday, nominations for the vacancies would be accepted till February 8. Scrutiny would take place on February 9 and nominations could be withdrawn till 3 p.m. on February 11. Votes polled on February 20 would be counted on February 22.
