Getting learner’s licence now made easy

PUDUKOTTAI: A multimedia exhibition, sponsored by the Directorate of Information and Public Relations, has eased the procedure for applicants desirous of obtaining learner’s licence.
Officials attached to the office of the Regional Transport Officer here have adopted the new technique realising the needs of the visitors.
There has been an overwhelming response from members of the public.
So far, about 200 applications have been distributed at the stall at the Public Office campus, which is the venue of the exhibition. Of them, 170 have been submitted along with the photograph and a photostat copy of the family card.
“We have issued the LLR to 40 applicants,” says Regional Transport Officer, Pudukottai, P. Gurusamy.
“The LLR is an important document for learners. But many tend to ignore it, mostly due to lack of time. We utilised the exhibition as an opportunity to create awareness among the masses,” he says.
The exhibition concludes on February 6.
