Srinagar: Skiers from across the country are expected to participate in the 5th National snow festival which begins on February 17 at Gulmarg in North Kashmir. “Around five hundred skiers from across the country are expected to participate in the festival,” Gulmarg Development Authority, Chief Executive Officer, Farooq Ahmad Lone, said today. The week-long festival includes skiing, ice skating, ice hockey and snow boarding among other events, Mr. Lone said. Generators and tankers will be available to ensure uninterrupted water and electricity supply during the festival, he added. The CEO said centres for supply of food grains, kerosene oil and cooking gas will also be opened. Meanwhile, snow cutters have also been engaged to clear the roads of Gulmarg, he added.
