Post-matric scholarship for minority students

Krishnagiri: The Union Government will provide post-matric scholarship to students belonging to minority communities.

Students studying from Plus I to Ph.D are eligible to apply for the scholarship. Scholarship will be awarded to students who have secured not less than 50 per cent marks or equivalent grade in the previous final examination.

They should not have received scholarship from the Backward Classes Welfare Department.

Out of the total number of scholarship, 30 per cent will be provided to girl students. Students from families listed below the poverty line will be given preference.

The annual income of the parents/guardian should not exceed Rs. 2 lakh.

Income certificate obtained in a non-judicial stamp paper should be submitted along with the application.

Information about the scholarship is published in the website www.minorityaffairs.gov.in/newsite.

Applications

Educational institutions should collect the application forms from the students and submit them to the District Backward Classes and Minorities Welfare office.

The last date is February 10, according to a press release.
