BJP cries foul as DDA fails to file reply

Issue of unauthorised colonies
|
NEW DELHI: With the Delhi Development Authority still not having filed its reply in the Supreme Court on how various facilities would be provided in unauthorised colonies that are due to be regularised, the Leader of the Opposition in the Delhi Assembly, Jagdish Mukhi, has accused the Congress-led governments in Delhi and at the Centre of lacking the will to regularise them. The BJP leader said both the Delhi Government and the Union Urban Development Ministry had made tall promises on regularisation of unauthorised colonies but the case in the Supreme Court had totally exposed them. He said during the discussion on the petition of the Delhi Government in the Court it was revealed that the DDA had still not filed its viewpoint on the issue.
He said this stance of the DDA clearly showed that notwithstanding what Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit and Union Minister of State for Urban Development Ajay Maken might say on the issue, they were really not interested in regularising these colonies as without following the norms and final directions from the Court these colonies cannot be regularised.
