CHANDIGARH: Haryana Finance Minister Birender Singh on Saturday directed the officials of Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA) to stop illegal commercial activities in residential areas developed by it in Gurgaon. Presiding over the monthly meeting of the District Grievances Committee at Gurgaon, Mr. Singh disposed of 13 out of 20 complaints on the spot. When a complainant drew his attention to “commercial activities” going on in the basements of houses in HUDA’s sector 39B which caused inconvenience to the residents of Housing Board colony, Mr. Birender Singh ordered the HUDA officials to restrict commercial activities in residential areas. Disposing of another complaint, he directed HUDA to provide alternative plot to the complainant who was allotted plot No. 254 in Sector 55. When the allottee complainant had applied for conveyance deed, the application was rejected on the plea that the aforesaid plot did not exist at the site. The Minister also directed the SDM to get encroachments removed from paths used by the public in Kasan village. He also directed the Additional Deputy Commissioner of Gurgaon to enquire about embezzlement of funds by the president of Aryant Group Housing Society in Sector 56.
