SHIMLA: Justice Jagdish Bhalla was sworn in as the new Chief Justice of Himachal Pradesh here on Saturday. Governor V.S. Kokje administered the oath of office and secrecy to Mr. Justice Bhalla as the 19th Chief Justice of the Himachal High Court at a brief ceremony. He was earlier serving as Chief Justice of the Chhattisgarh High Court. Mr. Justice Bhalla replaces Justice Vinod Kumar Gupta, who has been transferred to the Uttarakhand High Court after serving as Chief Justice here for five years. Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal, Leader of Opposition Vidya Stokes and Vidhan Sabha Speaker Tulsi Ram were among those present at the swearing-in ceremony.
