TDP chief’s promise to write off farm loans not practicable: PCC chief HYDERABAD: The Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee president G. S. Rao has observed that Telugu Desam Party president N. Chandrababu Naidu is so desperate to occupy the Chief Minister’s chair that he is going on doling out promises that are not realistic and impossible to be implemented. Reacting to a spate of promises made by Mr. Naidu during his whirlwind tour of Prakasam district, Mr. Rao, at a press conference on Saturday, questioned if they could be practically implemented. He lashed out at the TDP president for assuring the farmers of writing off the loans borrowed from commercial banks. He wondered whether Mr. Naidu had such a power to direct the commercial banks to forego loans extended to the farmers. He said Mr. Naidu’s sole intention was to regain power at the earliest. This was one reason why he was going all out to mislead people with false promises and uttering absolute lies. He took serious exception to the allegation that the Congress leaders were sending donations regularly to the high command for survival. Mr. Rao said no educated person, more so a former Chief Minister, would stoop to such a level so as to hurl baseless allegations against Congress leaders. He said the TDP leaders desperately tried to stall development by filing court cases.
