Semifinalists spotted

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Thiruvananthapuram, Palakkad, Kannur and Alappuzha completed the semifinal line-up in the first Under-18 inter-district boys’ hockey tournament at the G.V. Raja Sports School ground here on Saturday.

In the quarterfinals, host hammered Pathanamthitta 17-0. Kannur overcame Wayanad by a solitary goal while Alappuzha and Palakkad prevailed over Malappuram and Kollam respectively by the identical margin.

In the semifinals, Thiruvananthapuram will meet Kannur while Palakkad will take on Alappuzha.
