Mazzini strikes
NEW DELHI: Four goals by Gerardo Mazzini powered Elevation to a 7 goals to 5- 1/2 victory over Cavalry Red in the semifinals of the Hindustan Times Trophy 14-goal polo tournament at the Jaipur Polo ground here on Saturday.
C. Pando (2) and Satinder Garcha were the other marksmen for Elevation which will take on Jindal/Chougan in the final. Vishal Singh and Tunku Ismail Ibrahim scored two goals each for Cavalry Red that started with a 1- 1/2 goal handicap advantage.
In the other semifinal, Jindal/Chougan beat Kingfisher First 4 1/2 goals to 4. Basheer Ali (2) and Hamza Ali scored the goals for the winner that started with a 1 1/2 goal handicap advantage.
The efforts of Samir Suhag and Angad Kalaan who scored two goals each proved inadequate for Kingfisher First.
